Happy Birthday Mr. Darwin Not long ago, I had a conversation with
my mother about evolution. She said that she could believe that we
came from apes but there was no way that we came from fish. I told
her that we didn't come from fish. The apes did. I loved this
documentary series by Richard Dawkins.

A New Emotion I haven't been posting much lately. That is not to
say that I have not been diligent in my ongoing, insatiable and
yes, obsessive quest for information.

D'oh Canada 3 Even more unbelievable than The United States
waiting until after Christmas to ban phthalates in children's toys
is our own inept government with no plans to do anything. The EU
banned this particular toxin a decade ago. The science is in. The
manufacturers of these items are knowingly adding a poison to
their products then selling them to the most vulnerable human
beings, children, with absolutely no regard for the effects of
their actions. Then to compound the insanity, the government of
Canada has given these criminals the green light to peddle their
wares in our country. When did it become so difficult to simply do
the right thing?

Who Killed the Electric Car? They've had the answer all along and
now that they're begging for handouts, they promise to fast track
"new" green technologies. I think that the one year one dollar
salary the CEOs of the big three auto makers will take if they get
a bailout is way too much. It's a shame that so many jobs are
dependent on such short sighted greed. This is a great doc. Watch
it!

People Are Dicks I'm currently reading, "The Hunting of the
Whale" by Jeremy Cherfas. The book is a history of the brutal
global whaling trade. One really has to wonder why these
organizations, the International Whaling Commission or the
International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas
even exist. At the end of the day, its all politics and be damned
the animal.
